On three occasions since January, Sen. Barack Obama’s passport file was looked at by three different contract workers, said State Department spokesman Sean McCormack.
The contractors accessed information in the file in an unauthorized way, he said.
Two contractors were fired and one was disciplined by the contractor’s company, McCormack said.
Now I’ll hold off nefarious Bush accusations, but apparently breaches of this kind require an Inspector General inquiry, unless the people are fired (in which case they fall outside of the IG’s domain) read: Nothing has been done about this. However I will ask, why wasn’t Obama notified of the breaches until now? They apparently happened on Jan 9th, Feb 21st and Mar 13th. As Josh notes, those dates correspond to
…the day after the New Hampshire primary, the day of the Democratic debate in Texas and the day the Wright story really hit.
Fantastic! Now will we learn who accessed the files, and what if anything happened to the files after they were accessed?
